Surfing In a Sea of Gouache
Gouache is a new medium I have recently started to use. I have picked it up quite well and planned to show how this medium is comforting to use. This is depicted literally by illustrating myself within a happy, 'Magical World Of Yellow'.
The original name/idea explored : "the comfort of yellow"
Inspiration: Bedknobs and Broomsticks
The approach I've taken to illustrating was to make sure that the images were 'cartoony' and 'round'. I want viewers to be transported back to their childhood. I personally attach my childhood with comfort and hopefully viewers feel some sort of nostalgia when looking at the work I've created.
